Simon joined Ulster Rugby through the volunteer programme in March 2015 before taking on a full time role in September that year, having previously completed a MSc in Exercise Physiology from Trinity College Dublin where his theses focused on quantifying the collision demands of elite rugby union using GPS technology.

As well as utilising GPS to provide rugby, skills and physical quality development session analysis for rugby and S&C staff needs, Simon is responsible for monitoring and analysing Academy training and match loads and individual player rehabilitation, collating Academy and Ulster A team GPS and technical performance markers, and assisting in various ongoing sport science based projects.
